Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox is a Scottish born and bred singer. She was born on 25 December 1954 in Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother as was Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox had studied for three years in the Royal Academy of Music London in the 1970s, was admitted. She was able to survive on a student allowance and worked part-time to supplement her budget. Lennox did not feel happy with the quality of her abilities compared to the other students at the Royal Academy and began looking at other options. Lennox started her professional career in 1976 when she joined a band called Dragons Playground. But she quit before the band went on I.T.V.s talent show New Faces. She was the lead singer in The Tourists from 1977 until the year 1980. The band was where she got to know Dave Stewart and together they created The duo Eurythmics. Lennox went on to record her solo debut album Diva. This came out in 1992. It was a massive hit both critically and commercially. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth solo album debuted in October of 2014. The C.D. Lennox selected her favorites blues and soul from childhood. In addition in May 2019 Lennox published Lepidoptera an album of four piano pieces that she improvised. The E.P. This is the companion album to her Now I let the door open... artwork which was on display at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. It's also her debut self-released album.
