Maureen Denise McCormick, the only child from Richard McCormick, and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father was a teacher and her mom was a domestic worker. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her elder brothers. McCormick began singing and performing at a very young age. Her rise to fame as a fairytale started when she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6 which led to an inquiry from talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency and asked her if she would like to be in show business. McCormick got her first big job when she was cast in the 1964 television commercial of Mattels new baby doll, Baby Pattaburp. In the following year she appeared in another firm's Chatty Cathy Doll and was soon chosen to play the La Jolla Playhouse play Wind ItUp And ItBreaks. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was chosen out of a crowd of over 1500 children who had auditioned for the role of the oldest of three towheaded girls in the upcoming TV sitcom The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson as well as Robert Reed as newlyweds with the family of a blended couple. The show lasted for five years. McCormick said in her 2008 memoir Heres the Story : Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice that she nearly losing her virginity in the fifth season to Barry Williams, her co-star and brother on screen. The actress was just 16 years older and the actor aged 19 at the moment. This would have occurred, she says. However, the timing for our relationship wasn't right.
